IDS is pleased to provide you the ability to register your loans with MERS® using the idsDoc web application. Getting started is a simple process and you can expect one-on-one help from your IDS representative to ensure you are comfortable with the process. This process involves four easy steps as follows:
· 1st step Activate MERS® XML Registration process and obtain credentials in the MERS® test environment.
Contact your EDS/MERS® TIR (Technical Integration Resource) or to find out who your EDS/MERS® TIR is, contact the MERS® Helpdesk at 888-680-6377. Request that your MERS® Org Id be activated for XML Registrations and obtain a password to use with the idsDoc Utility. The User Id is your MERS® Org Id. You will need this information in order to conduct a walk through with your IDS representative.
· 2nd step Conduct interface walk through with IDS.
Call your IDS representative at 800-554-1872 to schedule a walk through. The representative will show you how to register loans using your existing borrower files currently in idsDoc. The interface walk through will be conducted in the MERS® Test Environment. There are no charges when registering loans in the MERS® test region and files successfully registered using the test region will not appear as registered in the production environment.
· 3rd step Test and validation process.
After submitting multiple successful registrations, validate each data value for the MINs submitted in the MERS® OnLine training environment. If you receive any rejections, ensure that you understand the reason for the rejection, that it is a valid rejection (not interface related) and determine if the rejection can be avoided when you begin submitting registrations to the MERS® production environment. Keep in mind that registrations submitted via the XML interface are similar to OnLine transactions in that any rejections received will not appear on the nightly Registration Rejects report. Therefore you must acknowledge the rejection, correct the cause and resubmit the registration. Contact your EDS MERS® TIR if you have any questions regarding your results and to ascertain if any additional testing is necessary. Once all parties agree that sufficient testing has occurred, your EDS/MERS® TIR will provide you a production password and request that your MERS® Business Integration Resource (BIR) activate you in the MERS® production environment. The login information is entered only once into the idsDoc utility which will log you in automatically upon activation.
· 4th step Activate the MERS® utility.
Call a member of the IDS team and provide your MERS® Org Id and production password. The team member will enter your login information and activate the utility. At this point you are ready to register with MERS® directly from idsDoc.
